How does Sound Throne work?

Each week, every U.S. state runs its own independent music battle. You upload a track, pay a $25 entry fee, and 8 specialized AI judges evaluate your song. At the end of the week, an automated meta-judge ("THE THRONE") picks one winner per state. The winner takes 40% of that state's prize pool, capped at $5,000.

How are winners chosen?

Each of the 8 AI judges scores submissions on their domain (lyrics, beat, flow, culture, emotion, etc.). The top 10 finalists per state — by composite score — are then evaluated by THE THRONE meta-judge, which selects the winner with a written ruling. All verdicts are visible to entrants in the My Tracks tab and to the public in the Winners tab.

When is the weekly winner picked?

Every Monday at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time (America/New_York). The Winners tab is updated automatically at that time. No human intervention.

How do I get paid if I win?

We email the winner using the address on file. You'll need to reply within 7 days with a signed Affidavit of Eligibility, a publicity release where lawful, and a W-9 tax form. Prizes are paid by ACH bank transfer or check within 30 days of verification.

Are entry fees refundable?

No. Once your submission is queued for AI judging, the $25 entry fee is final and non-refundable, except where required by law. If you were charged twice or charged in error, email us within 7 days and we'll refund the duplicate.

Is there a free way to enter?

Yes. Sound Throne offers a free alternate method of entry (mail-in postcard) that has an equal chance of winning as paid entries. See Official Contest Rules § 4.

Why can't I sign up from New York, Florida, or Rhode Island?

These states have stricter sweepstakes registration requirements that we are not yet registered for. Residents of these states cannot enter or win at this time. We hope to expand here soon.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Email support@soundthrone.studio from the address on your account asking for deletion. We'll permanently delete your account and personal data within 30 days, retaining only payment records required for tax compliance (7 years per IRS rules).

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot Password" — we'll email you a reset link. If you don't receive it within 5 minutes, check your spam folder, then email support.

My submission failed to upload — what now?

Try again on a stable Wi-Fi connection. Files must be MP3 or M4A, 25 MB or less. If you were charged but the submission didn't go through, email us with the Stripe receipt and we'll either fix the submission or refund the charge.

What audio formats are accepted?

MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC. Maximum file size 50 MB. Recommended: 320 kbps MP3 for best quality at the smallest size.

Are AI verdicts final?

Yes. Per the Terms of Service, AI scores and verdicts are final and not appealable. We do this so the contest is unbiased, scalable, and the same standard applies to every entrant.
